A third woman accuses Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct

WASHINGTON– The Senate Judiciary Committee is investigating new accusations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by a third woman.

Julie Swetnick did not accuse Kavanaugh of assaulting her, but said she heard about him trying to get girls drunk or drugged so that numerous boys could “gang rape” them during house parties in the early 1980s.

She did not name a specific incident, but said she saw Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge waiting in line to rape inebriated women, as she says was common practice “at many of these parties.” She also said she was raped in such a manner at a party where Judge and Kavanaugh “were present.”

Kavanaugh , in a statement from the White House, said: “This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone. I don’t know who this is and this never happened.”

He has categorically denied accusations of attempted sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford in high school and of exposing himself to Deborah Ramirez in college.

Sen. Ted Cruz, a member of the Judiciary Committee, declined to comment on the new accusations on Wednesday.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said the committee’s lawyers are reviewing the new accusation. The committee is expected to hear testimony from Kavanaugh and Ford on Thursday.

Julie Swetnick’s lawyer ,Michael Avenatti, published a sworn statement on Twitter Wednesday. In the document, Swetnick says she witnessed Kavanaugh and his high school friend Mark Judge “drink excessively” and “being overly aggressive with girls.”

Swetnick said she considers statements Kavanaugh made during a Fox News interview about his “innocence” during his high school years “absolutely false and a lie.”

Swetnick has previously worked for several government departments, including the Department of Defense, the U.S. Mint, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of State.

Avenatti gained a national platform after representing Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress who was paid $130,000 to keep quiet about her sexual affair with President Donald Trump. Avenatti has positioned himself as a potential presidential candidate.

President Donald Trump tweeted about the new accusation and blasted Avenatti.

“Avanatti is a third rate lawyer who is good at making false accusations, like he did on me and like he is doing now on Judge Brett Kavanaugh. He is just looking for attention and doesn’t want people to look at his past record and relationships- a total low-life!” Trump wrote.
