4th Annual Asian World Film Festival Set for Oct 24 in Los Angeles

It was announced on the kickoff party at downtown Los Angeles by the film festival’s Executive Director, Georges N. Chamchoum that the 4th Annual  Asian World Film Festival  (AWFF) will once again be held in Culver City, with opening night scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 and closing night Thursday, November 1. This year’s theme will focus on the female empowerment.

Mr. Richard Bak. CEO of SOOM Inc, on his opening speech said: “We are living within the rapid growth of technology where the film industry is highly influenced as well.  With that said, we want all of us to grow and imagine on how we can have a better life within.  We would like to ask each one of you how we can merge with the fast growing technology and movie industry.”

 

“Our SOOM foundation has been challenging ideas for many years and we will continue to challenge the new platform called CRP, where we can all blend each others ideas and make everyone’s dream possible, right here in LA.”

 

About 100 local film makers and industry professionals attended the party, including actress Kathy Wu, actor James Jeffery Caldwell, Ronson Cai, Ian, director Jin Zhang, producer Mimi M, Royce Gao, Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival founder Lewis Liu, film composer Mark Liu.

 

According to AWFF event director Eileen Chen, the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) brings the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinema to Los Angeles to draw greater recognition to the region’s wealth of filmmakers, strengthening ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries.
