John Cox Applauds Federal Memorandum Protecting California Water Deliveries

As Governor, Cox will “support the federal government when it’s good for California, but stand up for Californians when necessary”

California — John Cox announced his support of today’s federal memorandum to streamline regulations impacting water in California, calling it “good for Californians, our farmers, and farm workers.”

“Californians want solutions, not more hot-air and dry-taps out of Sacramento,” Cox said. “Gavin Newsom’s alternative is rationing an individual’s water to 55 gallons per day. Newsom’s rationing would prevent Californians from taking a shower and washing their clothes on the same day and I find that to be unacceptable.”

“Today’s action is a step forward toward managing our abundant resources that have been mismanaged for so long,” Cox said.

Cox has been a long advocate for completing the California water project and building new water storage including Sites and Temperance Flats dams.

Cox denounced the state water resources board water grab on Aug. 27 and was endorsed by the Niesei Farmers League on Sept. 20.

Cox toured the Friant-Kern Canal in Fresno County and announced his support for proposition 3 on July 18.
