India becomes fastest-growing Internet market among G20

India has become the fastest growing internet market in the 20-member group, whose netizen growth rate is 50 times higher than the average growth in other members, according to the Report on Internet Development of G20 Countries released on Wednesday.

The level of social networking in India is only 10 percent, whereas the average level of other G20 countries stands at 48 percent, leaving a huge room for the second-largest populated country in the world to contribute to the rapid increase of online users, said the report.

The report was compiled by multiple research institutes and think tanks, including Shantou University, the Center for China and Globalization and the Institute of Information of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
