President Trump on Thursday announced that he is cancelling his trip later this month to the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
“Because of the Democrats intransigence on Border Security and the great importance of Safety for our Nation, I am respectfully cancelling my very important trip to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum,” he tweeted. “My warmest regards and apologies to the @WEF!”

The president was scheduled to leave Jan. 21 to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, an annual event that attracts high-profile business and political figures, plus thinkers, artists and other elites. He blamed the cancellation on Democrats in Congress, saying they are not willing to negotiate a resolution to the shutdown, which is hung up on Trump’ demand for money to build a wall on the southern border.
