The “Spring City Banquet” Light Show illuminated Daming Lake at night during the seventh International Spring Water Festival. As fall approaches, the renowned scenic spot in Jinan, Shandong province is about to surprise you again!

Daming Lake, dubbed “China’s No 1 Spring Lake, integrating water sceneries, garden landscapes and ancient architecture, is one of the most popular scenic spots in Jinan, Shandong province.

Daming Lake, located to the north of the historical city center, is the confluence of several springs in Jinan. Its area is equal to one-quarter of the old town. The lake is fed by the artesian karst springs of the area and hence retains a fairly constant water level through the entire year.

The lake is regarded as one of the three must-see tourist spots in Jinan – the other two are Baotu Spring Park and Qianfo Mountain – and enjoys a reputation as the “pearl of the ‘Spring City'”.

Remote mountains and water views melt into a wonderful scroll, artistically integrating the natural scenery and cultural attraction along the lake. Lotuses in full bloom delight visitors, pleasure boats skim over the lake and people stroll along its banks. Nearby antique pavilions provide visitors with an immersive experience of the beautiful scenery.

The lake has a distinct identity in each of the four seasons; but fall is the best season for a visit.
