NEWMAN CONSOLIDATES MORE EDUCATION ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT IN SENATE REMATCH BID

California Faculty Association Backs Josh Newman for SD-29

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Further illustrating his deep support from students, teachers, school employees and faculty in his rematch campaign for State Senate District 29, today U.S. Army veteran, businessman, and former State Senator Josh Newman earned the endorsement of the California Faculty Association (CFA). CFA represents over 29,000 professors, lecturers, librarians, counselors and coaches who serve in the California State University system.

In a statement released with the endorsement, CFA President Charles Toombs commented:

“The California Faculty Association is thrilled to endorse a proven champion of quality and affordable higher education in Josh Newman. Throughout his time in the State Senate, Josh was a dedicated advocate of students and faculty in the Cal State System, working to ensure that our universities have the resources needed to give students the tools to succeed, and to insist that faculty are treated with dignity. We are confident that once back in the Legislature Josh will engage all education stakeholders to assure that their voices are heard in Sacramento, and we are proud to support his candidacy.”

Newman also released a statement reflecting on the endorsement:

“It’s an honor to receive the California Faculty Association’s support in this race. Having worked closely over the years with so many of their members, I welcome the opportunity to help lead the charge in Sacramento for a more affordable and well-resourced Cal State System. I am also deeply grateful to all CFA educators for their dedication to our students and the betterment of this great state.”
