CONTRERAS SECURES POWERHOUSE ENDORSEMENT FROM CONGRESSWOMAN SANCHEZ

Congresswoman Gives Critical Support to Westminster Councilman Sergio Contreras’s Supervisor Bid

WESTMINSTER, CA — Continuing his unrelenting momentum in the race for Orange County Board of Supervisors District 1, Westminster City Councilmember Sergio Contreras today earned the coveted endorsement of U.S. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez.  Sanchez, who represents California’s 38th Congressional District that encompasses eastern LA County and Orange County, is the latest elected official to announce their enthusiastic support of Contreras, whose campaign continues to build momentum towards the March primary.

In a statement released with the announced endorsement, Congresswoman Sanchez remarked:

“I’m excited to endorse Sergio Contreras for OC Board of Supervisors because I believe he is the best candidate to flip the 1st District blue.  As a local School Board member and City Councilmember, Sergio has been an effective leader working to build consensus on complicated issues and a strong advocate for better wages, protecting our environment, and public safety. I look forward to helping him secure victory.”

Today’s news follows Contreras’ announcement earlier this week that his campaign has raised more than $100,000. Contreras leads the field of candidates in endorsements and fundraising by a wide margin, demonstrating that he has strong, broad-based support and is far and away the strongest candidate to flip the seat.
