Southern California Armenian Democrats Endorse Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox in Assembly District 68 Race

IRVINE, CA – Propelling her campaign forward as she seeks the office of California Assembly District 68, today Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox received the support of the Southern California Armenian Democrats (SCAD). SCAD is the largest Armenian-American Democratic club in California.

In a statement released with the announced endorsement, Orange County SCAD Director Dr. Kev Abazajian commented:

“Melissa Fox has proven to be a strong leader in Irvine City Council: enhancing public safety, protecting and advancing equality, and being a champion for children and working families. Melissa will fight hard to deliver for Orange County in the State Assembly and our diverse community.”

Following the announced endorsement, Fox commented:

“I’m thrilled and honored to have the endorsement of the Southern California Armenian Democrats. Americans of Armenian heritage have enriched our culture, made enormous contributions to our nation, and served in the United States military in every conflict since the Civil War. I’m proud to be a longtime ally and supporter of the Armenian-American community in Southern California, including my support for official acknowledgement and condemnation of the Armenian genocide, for religious freedom around the world, and as a strong supporter of Armenian cultural groups in my community. I look forward to continuing to advocate for the issues important to the Armenian-American community in Sacramento.”
