FOX EARNS MONUMENTAL ENDORSEMENT FROM STATEWIDE ENVIRO GROUP

California League of Conservation Voters Picks Irvine Councilwoman Melissa Fox in AD-68

IRVINE, CA – Reflecting her commitment to confronting the climate crisis, today Irvine City Councilwoman Melissa Fox secured a sought-after endorsement from the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV), one of California’s most influential environmental groups, in her campaign for Assembly District 68.

CLCV Political and Organizing Director Mike Young released the following statement with the announced endorsement:

“The California League of Conservation Voters is proud to announce our support for Melissa Fox for Assembly because she is a proven champion in the fight to combat climate change and understands the dire need to enhance environmental protection. As the first Chair of the re-established Irvine Green Ribbon Environmental Committee, Melissa has been a local leader on the climate crisis, including advocating for the city of Irvine to adopt a comprehensive Climate Action Plan separate from the General Plan. We’re confident that in Sacramento, we can count on Melissa to tackle the unique environmental challenges facing her district and all of California, including rising sea levels and poor air quality, and fight for a 100% renewable energy future.”

Last week, Fox received the sought-after support of California State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon. Recently, Fox’s campaign announced that it had topped $250,000 raised for the upcoming March primary election.
