Providing better coronavirus information

On Memorial Day weekend, I want to take a moment to honor our brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. While we can’t pay tribute in large gatherings this year, we can still pause and remember these patriots and their families. These heroes represent the very best of America, and we can never forget them.

I want to thank everybody who joined my “Cisneros In Your City” Town Hall series over the past two weeks. I’m grateful to have these opportunities to talk with you about what’s happening in our community and answer your questions. From day one of coming into Congress, I’ve been committed to being as transparent and accessible as possible. If you didn’t have a chance to tune in to my town halls, I’m going to be sending a recorded link next week to those who RSVPed as well as post them on my social media.

A big topic that came up was about access to information, whether it was about testing, county rules, or other coronavirus topics. That’s why I want your input about how you’ve been getting information and how I can better share material with you. By taking this one-minute survey, you agree to receive occasional updates from me via email.

I also wanted to share a few more resources with you. You can find a more complete list and FAQ on my website, click here.

  • Emotional Support and Well-Being: This website offers hotlines if you need to talk to someone. Whether you’re a young adult, veteran, first responder, or an older adult, this is a resource for everyone.
  • Pandemic EBT Benefits: Due to the coronavirus, children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school will get extra food benefits. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in California buy food when school is closed.
  • Counties and Reopening Phases: This gives a breakdown of where each county is in the California reopening phases and what’s open and closed.

Please continue to stay safe, practice social distancing, wear a face mask, and practice safe hygiene. Your safety and health are my top priority.

As always, if you have any questions or need more information, you can visit my website here or call my office.

I am humbled to serve you in Congress.

Take care,
