New Exit Poll Shows Prop 16 Leading 53-47

Los Angeles, CA —  The following is an official statement from the campaign’s co-General Consultant Courtni Pugh regarding the Capitol Weekly poll released today, which shows Prop 16 ahead 53-47 with those who have already voted.

“California voters are not blind to the ways discrimination hurts our families and our communities. They believe in a level playing field for women and people of color.

This poll—of people who have actually filled out their ballots—supports what we have said from the start: that as voters take the time to sit down and learn about Prop 16, they will support it.

But with millions of Californians yet to vote, our job is not done yet. This week we’re doubling down on our outreach efforts by increasing our presence on English and Spanish TV and radio and investing in more grassroots programs designed to reach the communities most impacted by the ban on affirmative action. Connecting with voters around how Prop 16 expands equal opportunities for all Californians is how we plan to win.”
