Javier Palomarez Resigns From Trump’s Diversity Council
The Trump administration’s decision to kibosh the DACA program triggered howling criticism and a high-profile exit by a member of his own diversity coalition.
Javier Palomarez, the head of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, announced he was resigning from President Donald Trump’s diversity coalition over the administration’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
“I don’t see the point in trying to work with people that clearly don’t see this issue the way I do,” Palomarez, the leader of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said on the HLN news network.
In a statement, he called Trump’s decision “inhumane and economically harmful.”
