Sun Haitao from Jinan Acrobatic Troupe won gold medal at the 39th Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain (World Festival of the Circus of Tomorrow) held at the Cirque Phénix on the Pelouse de Reuilly in Paris.

Lasting from Feb 1 to 4, the festival is one of the most far-reaching and foremost circus competitions in the world. It staged 26 acts presented by circus troupes and schools from 26 countries and regions including the United States, Germany, Russia, Japan, Canada and Belgium.Sun’s solo performance, Balance on Chairs, demonstrates his masterstroke on 12 chairs superposing to a height of 12 meters, stunning the judges and spectators.

Since its foundation in 1977, the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain has sought to reveal the best circus arts from around the globe. It discovers and puts a light on young, up and coming circus talents from all horizons and offers them a career launching board.
