California National Organization for Women’s Political Arm Endorses Mike Eng for State Senate in the San Gabriel Valley

Leading women’s advocacy organization cites Mike Eng’s proven record on issues critical to women and families

EL MONTE, CA — After evaluating all the candidates for the 22nd State Senate district in the San Gabriel Valley, California NOW-PAC, which is the political arm of the National Organization for Women in California, announced it’s endorsement of Democrat Mike Eng.

“As a lawmaker, educator, and immigration attorney, Mike Eng’s record as an advocate for women and their families is unmatched in the contest for the 22nd State Senate District,” said Kolieka Seigle, President of California National Organization for Women.

“Mike Eng has proven that he stands up for school funding, access to healthcare for all, increased childcare and early education, and equality for women in all facets of life,” Seigle continued. “Mike has also shown that he stands up to the special interests, including the giant polluters who threaten our air and water, and the pharmaceutical drug companies that gouge consumers for prescription medicine.”

“We also would like to commend Mike Eng for being part of a team of effective legislators who passed some of the most important laws to prevent domestic violence and protect women. Without leaders like Mike, California wouldn’t have passed laws such as Senate Bill 1433, which takes firearms out of the hands of of domestic abusers on whom protective orders have been served,” Seigle stated. “Mike Eng has the experience we need in the State Senate, right now.”

“I’m extremely honored to have earned the support of California NOW PAC, as an advocate for women and families,” Eng responded. “I’ve strived to be an advocate for the same priority issues as California NOW, throughout my career. I’m particularly proud of having played a role in passing some of the strongest laws preventing domestic violence and helping pass the California Resolution which led to the federal renewal of the Violence Against Women Act. I’m honored that my commitment and my work is recognized by the leading women’s advocacy organization in California,” Eng concluded.
