Jim Sitterly Trio

James Sitterly teaches Music Appreciation and Music Fundamentals at Harbor College. He attended the Curtis Institute following his graduation from Palos Verdes High School. His liberal arts study continued at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor in Music degree. He earned his Master of Fine Arts at Cal Arts and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California. Dr. Sitterly has many private violin students in Palos Verdes. As a professional violinist, Dr. Sitterly was the concertmaster of the ALIAS and LOST TV studio orchestra.

As a concert violin soloist, Sitterly has performed his compositions, orchestrations and arrangements with orchestras on PBS and throughout the world on numerous tours with THE WHO, DON HENLY, JOHN TESH and MASON WILLIAMS.

Bobby Shulgold has been the principal flutist and soloist for most of the regional orchestra in LA, including the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra and the South Central Chamber Orchestra. He is solo flutist, piccolo and Alto flutist in the Hollywood Studio Orchestra and is the featured flutist in award winning film scores, including UP and RATATUILLE.

In addition to his stellar flute playing Mr. Shulgold is also a magician and can be seen at the Magic Castle performing his acts of magic.

Kevan Torfeh was principal cellist and soloist with the California Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Henri Temianka. Kevan has been heard on numerous TV shows and movies; most recently he performed on DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES along with Sitterly and Shulgold. Mr. Torfeh is an active teacher and has many students in Palos Verdes.

Sam Sorensen
Pianist Sam Sorensen, has composed for Films, TV, Cruise Lines, theme parks, industrials, and commercials. His music and arrangements have been performed by the Peninsula Symphony, the Orchestra Kentucky, and featured in the 2015 PBS special “Broadway To Hollywood”.
