Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County and Stockton Police Officer Association Endorses John Cox for Governor

California —  The Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County and Stockton Police Officer Association Endorses John Cox for Governor on Friday.

“California needs a Governor who will ensure public safety is a top priority,” said Gary Moore, President of the DSASD. “John Cox understands the challenges that law enforcement faces and the importance of keeping our communities safe. That’s why the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County is proud to endorse John Cox for Governor.”

The deputy sheriffs’ association of San Diego county is the professional labor organization representing more than 2,500 sworn deputies of the San Diego county sheriff’s department. For over 60 years, the DSA has been “the strength behind the badge” supporting San Diego county deputies, their families, and their communities.

“Your business background, leadership, and willingness to not take the path of political expediency, are exactly what we need in our next governor,” said Vice President of the SPOA, John Afanisev. “We commend you on your commitment to Public Safety, and your efforts to increase housing affordability for the men and women of law enforcement so we can live in the communities we take and oath to protect.”

The SPOA represents 469 sworn Stockton police officers.

“The men and women that protect our communities face the same affordability issues affecting millions of Californians,” Cox said. “I’m proud to have their support and endorsement.”

The California Peace Officers Association which represents over 16,000 peace officers endorsed Cox on July 11.
