Citrus greening disease has been detected in Whittier, Norwalk, Cerritos and Hacienda Heights. The disease, which is carried by tiny insects,turns citrus fruit green and bitter and eventually will kill the tree. Not only does this disease mean bad news for backyard citrus trees, if it is allowed to spread it threatens California’s $7.12 billion citrus industry.
