Former Secretary of State George Shultz Endorses John Cox for Governor

California — Former Secretary State George P. Shultz endorsed John Cox for Governor today.

Shultz is one of two individuals to ever serve in four different cabinet positions, serving as the Secretary of State to President Reagan, the Secretary of the Treasury and Secretary of Labor and Director of Office of Management and Budget to President Nixon.

In a recent column in the Sacramento Bee titled Here’s one wise man who California’s next governor should listen to on Aug. 23, Bill Whalen said the next Governor of California would be wise to take counsel from Shultz.

“Secretary Shultz has had a distinguished career in business and service to our nation. I am tremendously honored to have his support in this effort to bring positive change to California,” Cox said.

Shultz is the latest in a growing number of California innovators and leaders supporting John Cox’s message that Help is on the Way. John Cox is a small businessman who exploded onto the national stage after his come-from-behind finish and strong showing in California’s open primary, defeating a former Los Angeles mayor and a California State Treasurer.
