California \u2013 As many different polls are released each week leading up to Election Day, John Cox for Governor campaign manager Tim Rosales today highlighted the historic underestimation of Cox by many polling firms.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the final weeks of the primary election, often conventional polls were wrong when it came to the final numbers for John Cox and he outperformed expectations,\u201d\u00a0Rosales said. \u201cThe best evidence that this race is closer than reported is\u00a0the fact Gavin Newsom continues to attack John Cox at his campaign events and in the press. Comfortable candidates simply don’t attack their opponent. Gavin knows things have gotten worse on his 8 year watch and people are ready for change.”<\/p>\n

In the\u00a0LA Times\/USC poll released three\u00a0weeks prior to\u00a0the primary election, it showed Antonio Villaraigosa in second place with 11 percent (he received 13.3 percent), and Cox in third place with 10 percent (he received 25.4 percent) showing the historic inaccuracy of this poll.<\/p>\n

In contrast, a\u00a0KFI\/NBC 4 poll<\/a>\u00a0also released today\u00a0shows Newsom at 50.7 percent and Cox at 43.3\u00a0percent and a internal poll conducted by the Cox campaign fielded last week also\u00a0shows Newsom at 49.8 percent and Cox at 43.1 percent.\u00a0 What all surveys seem to agree on however, is that vote\u00a0intensity remains strong amongst\u00a0Cox voters.<\/p>\n

Cox’s focus on affordability and\u00a0helping Californians forgotten by\u00a0Newsom and the Sacramento political class is resonating with voters across all political parties.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
