Mission Blvd., Alhambra Police Department Sgt. Steven Carr said. The victim\u00a0Xie Yining and suspected killer both worked at the publication.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pasadenastarnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PAS-L-SHOOT-09-1117_277177513.jpg?w=620\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re both confirmed coworkers, although he exact motive is unknown,\u201d the sergeant said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived within 90 seconds of the first 911 call reporting the shooting, he said. They encountered four employees of the newspaper, along with the victim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no evidence of any other victims at this time or any other episodes of violence,\u201d Alhambra Sgt. Steven Carr said.\u00a0\u201cThis appears to be a case of workplace violence. We\u2019re investigating the potential of a disgruntled employee versus a co-worker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said police received a 911 call shortly before 9:30 a.m. from a man who said he\u2019d been shot.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-slideshow\">\n<p>The shooting occurred on the second floor of the office building, Carr said during a news conference Friday.
