{"id":15668,"date":"2019-03-24T01:05:33","date_gmt":"2019-03-24T08:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=15668"},"modified":"2019-03-24T01:05:33","modified_gmt":"2019-03-24T08:05:33","slug":"booker-takes-early-lead-in-2020-endorsements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=15668","title":{"rendered":"Booker takes early lead in 2020 endorsements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.\u00a0<span class=\"rollover-people\" data-behavior=\"rolloverpeople\"><a class=\"rollover-people-link\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/cory-booker\" data-nid=\"189619\">Cory Booker<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(D-N.J.) is leading the 2020 Democratic field in endorsements from his fellow congressional lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Booker has already locked up the public support of 12 lawmakers, including every member of his home state\u2019s Democratic delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow New Jersey Sen.\u00a0<span class=\"rollover-people\" data-behavior=\"rolloverpeople\"><a class=\"rollover-people-link\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/robert-menendez\" data-nid=\"188282\">Bob Menendez<\/a><\/span> (D) was an early backer, calling Booker a \u201cgreat friend\u201d who would \u201cmake an even greater president\u201d in his endorsement. The two have served together since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Other contenders are also pulling in early support from their home states.
