Grand celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People\u2019s Republic of China (PRC) was held at the Tian\u2019anmen Square, Beijing on Oct. 1. Over 200,000 people took part in the celebrations and a military parade was held.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary or the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission delivered an important speech and reviewed the armed forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Foreign experts and scholars believe Xi\u2019s speech signals that China will stick to the path of peaceful development and keep working with the rest of the world to build a community with a shared future for mankind. They said that China\u2019s remarkable achievements are inspiring other developing countries in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yury Tavrovskiy, professor from the Peoples\u2019 Friendship University of Russia, remarked that the leadership of the CPC is a foundation for such achievements. Thanks to the leadership of the CPC, China is able to explore a development path from a long-term perspective and out of long-term interests. The Russian professor believes that China will make greater accomplishments in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

China has gone through drastic changes over the past 70 years, becoming a highly opening country that advances with the time, said Peter Tschentscher, mayor of Hamburg, Germany, adding that Hamburg is willing to join the Belt and Road<\/em> Initiative<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenyan economist Mwangi Wachira noted that China\u2019s achievements made during the last 7 decades under the CPC leadership are obvious to all. Many African countries hope to learn from China\u2019s development experiences, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Xi\u2019s speech stressed that China will keep working with global people to build a community with a shared future for mankind, which is also a common aspiration of the world, the economist said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bernard Brizay, French historian and author, told People\u2019s Daily<\/em> that the grand military parade demonstrated China\u2019s military strength and the spirit of the Chinese military, adding that China\u2019s active participation in international affairs has made contribution to safeguarding world peace and regional stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cChina has taken active part in and successfully completed UN peacekeeping operations and international rescues, showing the country\u2019s sense of responsibility as a major country,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) said that China is an important force safeguarding world peace. According to him, there are currently 421 Chinese peacekeepers in the MINUSMA for guard, engineering and medical duties. \u201cThe UN peacekeeping troops take pride in having Chinese strength,\u201d the Lieutenant General added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chairman Robert Lawrence Kuhn of the Kuhn Foundation said that China has made huge achievements via its own path, and these achievements have benefited the world. What China tells the world is that it aims to improve the livelihood of its people, and is willing to share the development results with the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryuji Ishida, research fellow with International Peace Research Institute, Meiji Gakuin University of Japan noted that China\u2019s valuable experiences have offered references for developing countries, and are of vital significance for the solution to global issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

China\u2019s peaceful development and win-win cooperation conform to the trend of the time, said Hasan Javed, director of the Chinese Studies Center, Pakistan\u2019s National University of Sciences and Technology. The Belt and Road Initiative<\/em> has received broad support in the international society, because China has taken full consideration of the economic development and people\u2019s livelihood of other countries in its exchanges and cooperation, Javed remarked.<\/span><\/p>\n

Citing Xi\u2019s remarks that China will do well only when the world does well and vice versa, the Pakistani scholar hailed China\u2019s remarkable achievements in the past 70 years. \u201cGlorious history heralds brighter future, and we are confident about China\u2019s future development, as well as the building of a community with a shared future for mankind,\u201d he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n
