A freshman California congresswoman resigned Sunday amid allegations she had inappropriate relationships with multiple staffers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt is with a broken heart that today I announce my resignation from Congress,\u201d said Rep. Katie Hill, a Democrat from a district north of Los Angeles. \u201cThis is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I believe it is the best thing for my constituents, my community and our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the mistakes made along the way and the people who have been hurt, I am so sorry, and I am learning \u2014 I am not a perfect person and never pretended to be,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
