{"id":21567,"date":"2020-02-03T22:36:16","date_gmt":"2020-02-04T06:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=21567"},"modified":"2020-02-03T22:36:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-04T06:36:16","slug":"hong-kong-reports-first-death-from-new-coronavirus-infection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=21567","title":{"rendered":"Hong Kong reports first death from new coronavirus infection"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"info\"><span class=\"info_l\">Xinhua | Updated: 2020-02-04 13:03<\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"Content\">\n<p>HONG KONG &#8212; A 39-year-old man infected with novel coronavirus died on Tuesday in a Hong Kong hospital, the first death case in Hong Kong, the hospital&#8217;s spokesperson confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The patient, a Hong Kong resident with underlying illness, was confirmed on Jan. 31 as Hong Kong&#8217;s 13th case of novel coronavirus infection, and was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital for isolation and treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He died on Tuesday morning at the hospital after his condition deteriorated, a spokesperson of the hospital said.<\/p>\n<p>The man lived in Whampoa Garden, a private housing estate in Kowloon.
