{"id":22408,"date":"2020-02-27T17:54:12","date_gmt":"2020-02-28T01:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=22408"},"modified":"2020-02-27T17:54:12","modified_gmt":"2020-02-28T01:54:12","slug":"dems-press-facebook-on-gun-sales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=22408","title":{"rendered":"DEMS PRESS FACEBOOK ON GUN SALES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of Democratic senators sent a letter Thursday pressing Facebook over private gun sales on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[D]espite Facebook&#8217;s ban of gun sales on its platforms, users are nonetheless able to facilitate firearm transactions in private Facebook groups specifically designed to skirt Facebook&#8217;s ban on firearm sales,&#8221; the 13 senators wrote in the letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook first banned the sale of firearms on the platform in 2016, then in 2018 it added proactive measures to identify sellers after pressure from lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have concerns that those measures fall short,&#8221; the lawmakers led by Sens.
