{"id":24248,"date":"2020-04-30T14:09:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T21:09:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=24248"},"modified":"2020-04-30T14:09:40","modified_gmt":"2020-04-30T21:09:40","slug":"cuomo-to-suspend-nyc-subway-service-at-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=24248","title":{"rendered":"Cuomo to suspend NYC subway service at night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"ShVA4L\">The New York City subway, a 24\/7 behemoth that rarely shuts down, is shutting down \u2014 but just at night.<\/p>\n<p id=\"WJb85C\">The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will suspend subway service for four hours every evening to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/3\/9\/21168516\/coronavirus-covid19-city-public-transportation-subway-bus-cleaning\">disinfect trains<\/a>\u00a0and deal with an uptick in homelessness, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p id=\"vHjL0E\">New York City\u2019s reputation as a \u201ccity that never sleeps\u201d is mostly thanks to its 24-hour subway service.
