{"id":25632,"date":"2020-06-03T15:31:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T22:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=25632"},"modified":"2020-06-03T15:31:57","modified_gmt":"2020-06-03T22:31:57","slug":"twitter-kind-of-takes-a-stand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=25632","title":{"rendered":"TWITTER (KIND OF) TAKES A STAND"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter said Wednesday it will not tackle all the misinformation on its platform but will instead focus on posts with the \u201chighest potential for harm\u201d as it works to curb false or misleading information from spreading.<\/p>\n<p>The social media giant said it is responding to a survey from last year in which respondents said that \u201cTwitter shouldn\u2019t determine the truthfulness of Tweets\u201d and \u201cTwitter should provide context to help people make up their own minds in cases where the substance of a Tweet is disputed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHence, our focus is on providing context, not fact-checking,\u201d the company said. \u201cWe are NOT attempting to address all misinformation. Instead, we prioritize based on the highest potential for harm, focusing on manipulated media, civic integrity, and COVID-19.
