[Photo by\u00a0Zhang Jingang\/For China Daily]<\/p>\n<p>The province of Shandong has been promoting cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) through a number of channels under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative, according to local authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides have maintained frequent high-level visits, deepening mutual trust and expanding trade and economic ties.<\/p>\n<p>Gong Zheng, former governor of Shandong province (now mayor of Shanghai), led a delegation to the Philippines in March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Wang Liang, deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People&#8217;s Congress, led a delegation to visit Vietnam and Thailand in late May of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Ren Airong, vice-governor of Shandong province, visited Singapore in December 2019 with a government delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Shandong has advanced economic and trade ties with Singapore by making full use of existing cooperation mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore-Shandong Business Council (SSBC), established in November 1993, was the first bilateral business council formed between Singapore and a Chinese province.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 27 years, thanks to joint efforts by both sides, the trade volume between Shandong and Singapore has continued to expand.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, imports and exports between Shandong and Singapore reached a value of $2.57 billion, 12 times more than when the SSBC was first established.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore has become the fifth largest investor in Shandong province, while 23 Shandong companies are listed in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides are continuing to increase cooperation in finance, urban management, education, culture, sports, and port development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(chinadaily.com.cn) A container ship docks at&#46;&#46;&#46;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":28115,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[11,8,5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28118","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-china","category-world"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/28118","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=28118"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/28118\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":28120,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/28118\/revisions\/28120"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/28115"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=28118"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=28118"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=28118"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
