{"id":29099,"date":"2020-11-11T21:10:59","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T05:10:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=29099"},"modified":"2020-11-11T21:10:59","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T05:10:59","slug":"clock-ticks-on-tiktok-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=29099","title":{"rendered":"CLOCK TICKS ON TIKTOK BAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TikTok\u2019s parent company ByteDance filed a petition Tuesday asking the courts to extend a Thursday deadline for the company to divest the popular video-sharing app as outlined in an executive order from <a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/pjcdwrftvhhbgrghbymvvbddvfbkhfhsslvtrckhfjdclh_xgjdrrhvhtdbgrdhspph.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/pjcdwrftvhhbgrghbymvvbddvfbkhfhsslvtrckhfjdclh_xgjdrrhvhtdbgrdhspph.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1605225214218000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2hw9TTfLAWCsQFwLNQBlu2\">President Trump<\/a>, a TikTok spokesperson confirmed to The Hill Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>In the petition filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Beijing-based ByteDance asks for an extension since a proposed deal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/eyhpjvdlqrrfcvcrftbqqfppqdfwrdrkkhqlvzwrdypzhs_xgjdrrhvhtdbgrdhspph.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/eyhpjvdlqrrfcvcrftbqqfppqdfwrdrkkhqlvzwrdypzhs_xgjdrrhvhtdbgrdhspph.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1605225214218000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2sm3GbtvDIuFZlqHd3C99y\">tentatively approved<\/a>\u00a0by Trump in September has yet to be finalized, according to reports.
