Christopher Krebs, the top federal cybersecurity official who was fired by\u00a0President Trump<\/a>\u00a0this week, called Thursday’s press conference held by Trump attorney\u00a0Rudy Giuliani<\/a>\u00a0and other Trump legal team members some of the \u201cmost dangerous” television in U.S. history.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThat press conference was the most dangerous 1hr 45 minutes of television in American history. And possibly the craziest,\u201d\u00a0Krebs tweeted<\/a>. \u201cIf you don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking about, you\u2019re lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krebs, former director of the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), was\u00a0fired on Tuesday<\/a>\u00a0after publicly pushing back against disinformation and misinformation surrounding the presidential election. Trump has refused to concede the race to President-elect\u00a0Joe Biden<\/a>, making unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud.<\/p>\n

Giuliani, a former New York City mayor, and other members of Trump\u2019s legal team\u00a0held a press conference<\/a>\u00a0Thursday to give an update on the campaign\u2019s legal challenges in various battleground states where vote tallies show Biden with a substantial lead.<\/p>\n

Giuliani cited multiple now-debunked claims of voter fraud in making the case for Trump, including\u00a0citing<\/a>\u00a0a scene from the film \u201cMy Cousin Vinny\u201d in which a character is too far away from a crime scene to be a credible witness to argue the Trump campaign wasn’t allowed close enough to observe ballot counting in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
