{"id":31724,"date":"2021-02-16T17:10:52","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T01:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=31724"},"modified":"2021-02-16T17:10:52","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T01:10:52","slug":"becerra-to-get-key-committee-hearing-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=31724","title":{"rendered":"Becerra to get key committee hearing next week\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Biden\u2019s nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services will get a hearing before the Senate Health Committee Feb. 23.<\/p>\n<p>Xavier Becerra, who is California\u2019s attorney general and a former member of the House, has already faced pushback from the GOP, signaling a rocky confirmation process ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans point to the 100-plus lawsuits Becerra filed against the Trump administration as California\u2019s top law enforcement officer, and his support for abortion rights and Medicare for All.
