{"id":32587,"date":"2021-03-08T17:13:30","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T01:13:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=32587"},"modified":"2021-03-08T17:13:30","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T01:13:30","slug":"russia-never-sleeps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=32587","title":{"rendered":"RUSSIA NEVER SLEEPS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Russian intelligence agencies are waging a disinformation campaign to undermine the public\u2019s trust in western COVID-19 vaccines, according to a State Department official.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/phydwrftvhhbgrghbymvvbddvfbkhfhsslvtrckhhqyjvv_vjyfhhpvpnfgfhvkmmvr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/phydwrftvhhbgrghbymvvbddvfbkhfhsslvtrckhhqyjvv_vjyfhhpvpnfgfhvkmmvr.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1615336933754000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGCfQ5xEKz1bmR5T41u47ebCl31Iw\">The Wall Street Journal reports<\/a>\u00a0that the official, from the State Department\u2019s Global Engagement Center (GEC), identified four small online publications that are spreading false and misleading claims by playing up the vaccines&#8217; side effects, questioning their efficacy and claiming that the U.S. had rushed the development of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>The official said he believes the websites are fronts for Russian intelligence, and their false narratives are being amplified by Russian and international media, the Journal reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can say these outlets are directly linked to Russian intelligence services,\u201d the GEC official told the newspaper. \u201cThey\u2019re all foreign-owned, based outside of the United States.
