Demonstration throughout the nation started in late February after a surge of attacks on Asian Americans broke out. The protest in LA comes a week after the deadly attack in Atlanta that left 8 dead, among which 6 were Asians. That\u2019s on top of nearly 3,800 hate crimes reported where Asian victims were targets last year, and 68% of the victims were women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33370\" src=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-2.jpg 360w, https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Marchers carried signs with phrases such as \u201cStop Asian Hate\u201d, \u201cNo on Crimes\u201d, \u201cProtect Asian Lives\u201d, \u201cJustice for Asians\u201d, \u201cAsian Lives Matter\u201d, and \u201cJustice, Not Politics\u201d. The march started in Los Angeles City Hall and concluded at the same place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Several demonstrators expressed fears, angers, and worries they claimed the bloody shooting in Atlanta, the unprovoked beating of innocent Asian elderly on city streets, plus a series of insensitive acts from News outlets, such as Teen Vogue\u2019s appointment of Alexi McCammond as Editor in Chief despite her past anti-Asian rhetorics, were pushing them over the breaking point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-3-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33371\" src=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-3-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"536\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-3-2.png 360w, https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-3-2-201x300.png 201w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Daniel Wu, co-founder of Chinese Young Professionals Network (CYPN)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cRacism towards Asian isn\u2019t new, from the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, to Japanese Interim Camp during the WWII, to today\u2019s hostile attitude towards Asians from both the progressive and conservative policy makers&#8221;, said Daniel Wu, co-founder of Chinese Young Professionals Network (CYPN), a 501c3 non profit org, also an Executive at a publicly traded company based in LA, \u201cSome politicians condemned crimes on Asians, and yet we have not seen any concrete actions that led to arrests and charges of the criminals who attacked our Asian American community. George Gascon, the Los Angeles County District Attorney is essentially giving the criminals a Free pass so those thugs on the streets have no deterrents. The new California law on murder also led to the release of the criminals who killed Xinran Ji, a Chinese students that was beaten to death with a bat by the group of murderes in part because of his ethnicity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-rotated.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33373\" src=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-rotated.jpg 360w, https:\/\/lapost.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/20210327-Mo-and-Wu-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Bennie Mo, founder of a trading firm and a music producer<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Another volunteer Bennie Mo, founder of a trading firm and a music producer, created a group T-shirts that featured a Giant Panda for her fellow friends that read \u201cDestroy Racism. Be like a Panda. I\u2019m Black, White, and Asian\u201d. The Mayor of San Marino, Steven Huang, local residents Sylvia Koh and Annie Hou are volunteered to join the team activity. \u201cWe want the State the fund and launch a statewide marketing campaign to educate the public on Asian American\u2019s contribution to the US. Educate the public about the dark past of discrimination against Asians, and raise AAPI awareness beyond Lunar New Year. Teach culture, history as part of elementary, middle, high school curriculum.
