{"id":34469,"date":"2021-04-27T16:43:26","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T23:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=34469"},"modified":"2021-04-27T16:44:00","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T23:44:00","slug":"state-officials-announce-latest-covid-19-facts-360","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=34469","title":{"rendered":"State Officials Announce Latest COVID-19 Facts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SACRAMENTO \u2013 Today, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released the most recent statistics on COVID-19 and updates on the state\u2019s pandemic response.<\/p>\n<p>Masking Update<\/p>\n<p>CDPH issued the following statement in response to today\u2019s announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to update masking guidance for fully vaccinated Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have reviewed and support the CDC\u2019s new masking recommendations and are working quickly to align California\u2019s guidance with these common sense updates,\u201d said State Public Health Officer Dr. Tom\u00e1s Arag\u00f3n, Director of CDPH. \u201cWhile more than 50% of Californians 16+ are partially or fully vaccinated, many others are still not vaccinated, and the threat of variants remains. We continue to urge all eligible Californians to get vaccinated to help us move past this pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Statewide COVID-19 Data as of Today<\/p>\n<p>California has 3,633,185 confirmed cases to date. Numbers may not represent true day-over-day change as reporting of test results can be delayed.<\/p>\n<p>There were 1,445 newly recorded confirmed cases Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The 7-day positivity rate is 1.2%.<\/p>\n<p>There have been 59,484,125 tests conducted in California. This represents an increase of 156,757 during the prior 24-hour reporting period.<\/p>\n<p>There have been 60,208 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As of April 27, providers have reported administering a total of 28,682,914 vaccine doses statewide. The CDC reports that 36,545,160 doses have been delivered to entities within the state. Numbers do not represent true day-to-day change as reporting may be delayed.
