It is hoped that the selection will bring upward strength to the Chinese youth and communities in the States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to the selection committee: &#8220;These honorees are outstanding representatives of the millions of Chinese youth and Chinese international students in the States. Their efforts to work hard and grow up will certainly be the driving force for inspiring young friends. In 2019, Mr. Zhong was selected as &#8220;Top 30 under 30&#8221; by the All American Chinese Youth Federation. As a diverse percussionist, composer, leader, and educator, Mr. Zhong constitutes a new image of Chinese musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a stage performer, Mr.Zhong began to perform at the age of three. He performed many times on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of China and served as the leading performer in the piece &#8211; &#8220;Fun Drum.&#8221; At the age of nine, Mr.Zhong was picked by several film directors and started starring in TV series and reality shows as a child actor. At the age of ten, Mr.Zhong has continually toured worldwide. The performing style ranges from solo, contemporary, jazz, classical, pop, and broadway music. Today, Mr. Zhong&#8217;s solo performances have appeared on all five continents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a composer, Mr.Zhong premiered his first composition, The Drum Moves the Heart, at the International Chinese Arts Festival in 2009. The newest music works are Wukong, a piece for Bangu and electronics music; Egg fried rice, a piece for Vocaloid and snare drum solo; Up Kinds as Water, a piece for hand gestures, electronic music(Lu Wang), and Machine learning(Yiyao Nie). The VR projects she had worked on have also won multiple awards in both Asia and the U.S. She has produced and distributed multiple VR art installations, including renowned artist Rachel Maclean\u2019s <em>I\u2019m Terribly Sorry <\/em>with KWM Art Center, Wang Xin\u2019s Maybe it\u2019s Time to Refresh the Art World a Little Bit at K11 art mall in Hong Kong, and Tian Zhuo Chen&#8217;s <em>Trance.<\/em> Her producing work <em>Living Distance<\/em> with artist Xin Liu has been selected into multiple renowned film festivals, including Sundance, SXSW, Beijing Film Festival, and it\u2019s the first Chinese immersive project that Sundance New Frontier Lab has taken on. So far he has led the team obtaining 3 FDA clearance for their AI products that are in clinical usage at ~100 clinical sites in the US, China, EU and around the world. Subtle Medical has won the NVIDIA AI award in 2018, MIT AI Idol award in 2019, CB Insight top AI-100 and Top 150 digital health company in 2020. He has published over 20 articles in highly reputable international journals and conferences, such as the <em>Journal of Business Research<\/em> \u2013 considered the most impactful marketing journal as ranked by H-Index. His articles have been selected as \u201cLead Articles\u201d or featured in \u201cEditor\u2019s Perspectives\u201d of prestigious journals and have been cited by authors in highly respected journals in interdisciplinary fields as food science, health care, environmental science, education, computer science, and psychology. His journal publication in 2019 proposed an innovative theoretical framework for companies to use AI to design new products through analyzing big data from social media websites. Dr. Dong\u2019s current research focus is on applying and inventing data and computational science methods (e.g., machine learning and optimization) to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and equity of disaster response and crisis management. She has received funding over $1 million from different agencies, including National Science Foundation (NSF), and Federal Highway Administration, and Texas Department of Transportation. Dr. Dong work has been recognized by international and national awards, including several Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) annual conference best paper awards. She won NSF Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) Award (known as mini-CAREER), and has been selected as the NSF Operations and Systems Engineering Extreme Events Research (OSEEER) Early Career Mentoring (ECM) Program Fellow. In addition, Dr. Dong recently won the Honorable Mention of INFORMS MIF Early Career Award, and received the invitation by Harvard Business School to present her work regarding social media information sharing for natural disaster response at their 1st workshop of Data Science Challenges in Management and Decision Sciences, as one of the 30 selected junior scholars. Dr. Dong was the president of Cornell Chinese Students and Scholars Association (2013-2014), and is now the faculty advisor of Texas State Chinese Students and Scholars Association. She is a current prestigious Schwarzman Scholarship recipient at Tsinghua University and working towards her second master\u2019s degree in Global Affair.
