{"id":35238,"date":"2021-05-14T16:38:58","date_gmt":"2021-05-14T23:38:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=35238"},"modified":"2021-05-14T16:38:58","modified_gmt":"2021-05-14T23:38:58","slug":"luck-o-the-irish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=35238","title":{"rendered":"LUCK O\u2019 THE IRISH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ireland\u2019s health care system was forced to shut down its IT systems Friday following what it described as a &#8220;significant&#8221; ransomware attack that disrupted operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been a ransomware attack on our IT systems,\u201d the Health Service Executive (HSE)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/epbpjvdlqrrfcvcrftbqqfppqdfwrdrkkhqlvzwrrprtdy_ybmskkqlqnsglsmlvsvq.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/epbpjvdlqrrfcvcrftbqqfppqdfwrdrkkhqlvzwrrprtdy_ybmskkqlqnsglsmlvsvq.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1621115688429000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHSSJkpKBouGZlOQG2_vb09sQg-LQ\">wrote in a post on its website<\/a>. \u201cWe have shut them all down as a precaution. This has caused some disruption to our services. But most healthcare appointments will go ahead as planned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to HSE, the attack meant a delay in some hospital appointments, the cancellation of a portion of virtual appointments and a delay in COVID-19 test results.
