But this year, many of the outsider candidates who are winning, often over the opposition of the entrenched political class, share a specific trait in common: They are Black.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of this year, there are likely to be more Black mayors among the nation\u2019s 50 largest cities, 12, than there are Republicans, 11.
