{"id":37418,"date":"2021-07-07T13:02:27","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T20:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=37418"},"modified":"2021-07-07T18:02:54","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T01:02:54","slug":"big-tech-agenda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=37418","title":{"rendered":"BIG TECH AGENDA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) unveiled his own strategy for taking on Big Tech companies Wednesday after voting against the bipartisan proposals that were approved by the panel last month.<\/p>\n<p>The document \u2014 which opens with the unsubstantiated yet popular claim that tech companies are \u201cout to get conservatives\u201d \u2014 includes some modest antitrust proposals aimed at empowering courts and state attorneys general to expedite cases.<\/p>\n<p>It also calls for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to be stripped of its antitrust enforcement authority, leaving the Justice Department\u2019s antitrust division as the sole actor in the space.
