Pacific Palisades, CA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 On Saturday\u00a0July 31st, at 9\u00a0am, at the Will Rogers Beach, Asian Industry B2B (aib2b.org<\/a>) will be bringing together various grassroots groups and individuals supporting the Triple Recall happening at that location: for City Councilman\u00a0Mike Bonin<\/strong>, District Attorney\u00a0George Gascon<\/strong>\u00a0and Governor\u00a0Gavin Newsom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Keynote speaker is media personality and longtime talk radio celebrity\u00a0Larry Elder<\/strong>, who announced his candidacy\u00a0for governor in the September 14th election\u00a0and is now the frontrunner according to two polls:\u00a0Emerson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Berkeley<\/a>, where he leads by double digits. Elder\u00a0was met with controversy after the Secretary of State left him off the original list of candidates released last Friday. By court order, he was put back on and he will be our event’s keynote speaker. Private citizen\u00a0Betty Tom Chu<\/strong>, Founder of East West Bank and previously Mayor of Monterey Park will also\u00a0speak as a winning party as private citizen to the lawsuit to get Larry back on the ballot. Registered voters will be mailed ballots in mid-August for the upcoming election.<\/p>\n

Two other recalls are in the petition stage. Volunteers of both the\u00a0Recall Bonin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Recall Gascon Now<\/strong>\u00a0campaigns will be present for voters to sign to push special elections, similar to the statewide Recall Newsom one.<\/p>\n

Deputy DA\u00a0John McKinney<\/strong>\u00a0will speak on the Recall Gascon effort and the crimes not being prosecuted. He will be joined by\u00a0Emma Rivas<\/strong>, an advocate for mothers of murdered children and Gascon voter, to speak on her “buyer’s remorse”, now that the killer of her son will be eligible for release back into the streets due to Gascon’s policies.<\/p>\n

Domestic workers advocate\u00a0Carmel Foster<\/strong>\u00a0will speak about the state’s AB5 bill, which she was the citizen testimony for, and also expresses buyer’s remorse. She is now endorsing Elder for Governor, and so is Monterey Park City Councilman\u00a0Mitchell Ing<\/strong>. Both are Democrats and are prioritizing issues over party and will speak on the issues that matter to them.<\/p>\n

Finally, concerned voices from the Hispanic community will speak including\u00a0Alfred Cuellar<\/strong>, a father, who will express concerns about public school education quality.<\/p>\n

Organizer\u00a0Marc Ang<\/strong>\u00a0says, “This special spot we congregate in is ground zero for 3 recalls and the image of a beach that has been overrun by homeless encampments. Mike Bonin’s policies and moves as a councilman have angered citizens of all party affiliations, including his own Democrats, because of bad\u00a0policy and moving the homeless around with no consequence to the residents of the city or the homeless themselves.<\/p>\n

Gascon’s policies are similarly not helping – not prosecuting allows situations like meth labs in front of elementary schools, which is what propelled key proponents of the Bonin recall to get politically active. Finally, overall state policies like Prop 47 have exacerbated problems\u00a0and we have a governor who is more concerned about partisan food fights and hypocritical displays of power and elitism than solving on-the-ground issues.<\/p>\n

Our crowd is mostly Democratic today, including city councilman Mitchell Ing, key advocates like Foster, Rivas and many more. We are “post partisan”, and while we all don’t share the same views, many of us are here to support common solutions, and some of us are proposing a bold and\u00a0much needed change with Larry Elder leading the way to replace Newsom.”<\/p>\n
