{"id":39119,"date":"2021-08-25T18:19:55","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T01:19:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=39119"},"modified":"2021-08-25T18:19:55","modified_gmt":"2021-08-26T01:19:55","slug":"tech-groups-pledge-action-on-cybersecurity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=39119","title":{"rendered":"Tech groups pledge action on cybersecurity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government and several major technology companies on Wednesday announced\u00a0they are taking a host of steps to\u00a0enhance the nation\u2019s cybersecurity, specifically focused on growing the cyber workforce and investing billions of dollars in the field.<\/p>\n<p>The announcements\u00a0followed a meeting on cybersecurity at the White House with\u00a0President Biden\u00a0and key members of his administration on cybersecurity, and on the heels of months of high-profile cyberattacks.<\/p>\n<p>Biden met with officials of over two dozen groups from a range of fields, including the leaders of Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Bank of America, JPMorgan, Duke Energy, PG&amp;E, Travelers insurance, and the University of Texas System.<\/p>\n<div id=\"m_4583040718914174650dfp-ad-incontent_desk_1-wrapper\">\n<div id=\"m_4583040718914174650dfp-ad-incontent_desk_1\">\n<div id=\"m_4583040718914174650google_ads_iframe_1107919\/Content_300x250_ROS_asynch_0__container__\">Following the meeting, several of the companies announced massive cybersecurity funding commitments, including Microsoft, which said that it would commit $20 billion over the next five years to help integrate cybersecurity into products and advance cybersecurity solutions.
