It\u2019s that time of year again! NBC4 and Telemundo 52 Clear the Shelters\u2122 annual pet adoption and donation drive kicked off on August 23 through September 19, and Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control (DACC) is excited to participate for another year and offer special adoption promotions for the entire month of September!<\/p>\n
Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control\u2019s seven animal care centers are offering $20 adoption fees for large dogs over 35 pounds and all cats. The discounted rate of $20 includes adoption, vaccination, microchip and spay\/neuter.<\/p>\n
\u201cA huge thank you to NBC4 and Telemundo 52 for spreading the message that adoption is the best option and helping homeless pets find forever homes,\u201d says Director Marcia Mayeda.<\/p>\n
Last month, DACC implemented the new Love at First Sight adoption program where members of the public can self-schedule appointments online to visit one of the seven animal care centers. During their visit, potential adopters can view all available animals and adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. This means no more waiting lists that can delay the adoption process \u2013 animals that are spayed or neutered and available that day are listed as \u201cReady to Go Home.\u201d With all these enhancements and NBC4 and Telemundo 52\u2019s help, the goal is to Clear the Shelters in September!<\/p>\n
