Los Angeles, December 28, 2021 – Acclaimed film director Jean-Marc Vall\u00e9e — who helmed the 2013 drama “Dallas Buyers Club” — died Sunday near Quebec City, Canada, according to his production company’s publicist. He was 58 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

“He was a friend, creative partner and an older brother to me,” Nathan Ross, a partner in Vall\u00e9e’s production company Crazyrose, said in a statement. “The maestro will sorely be missed but it comforts knowing his beautiful style and impactful work he shared with the world will live on.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the evening of the 27th, the organizing committee of the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF), which has been in cooperation with the director for many years, hosted a small memorial event in Los Angeles. The Hollywood film colleagues who participated in the event said that the incident was suddenly unacceptable, but the industry expressed deep pain feeling.<\/span><\/p>\n
