{"id":43495,"date":"2021-12-30T13:51:25","date_gmt":"2021-12-30T21:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=43495"},"modified":"2021-12-30T17:51:47","modified_gmt":"2021-12-31T01:51:47","slug":"facebook-whistleblower-goes-to-washington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=43495","title":{"rendered":"Facebook whistleblower goes to Washington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Facebook had a rocky end to the year in terms of Washington scrutiny and the court of public opinion, largely due to documents leaked by company whistleblower Frances Haugen.<\/p>\n<p>In October, several news outlets published a series of stories based on thousands of internal Facebook documents that Haugen leaked, which painted a picture of a company prioritizing profits and ignoring internal warning signs on safety issues.<\/p>\n<p>Haugen, a former member of Facebook\u2019s Integrity team, also testified in the House, Senate and abroad about the Silicon Valley giant.
