It marked\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/djpszlgkjttfblbtfrcjjfssjgfwtgtnnmjkldwtrrpsmm_tcmlvvhzhklcbcjcmjzh.html?a=&amp;b=47832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/djpszlgkjttfblbtfrcjjfssjgfwtgtnnmjkldwtrrpsmm_tcmlvvhzhklcbcjcmjzh.html?a%3D%26b%3D47832&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1646954409608000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2rZYaQsbyjxmgSgklIM04E\">the first time in decades<\/a>\u00a0that Senate Democrats removed\u00a0the amendment\u00a0from their annual government appropriations bills.<\/p>\n<p>However, the amendment has since been included in the latest text for a government spending omnibus package for fiscal 2022 that was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/jnbfczshnbbwpzpbwtvnnwffnswkbsbddmnhzqkbttrfmq_tcmlvvhzhklcbcjcmjzh.html?a=&amp;b=47832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/click1.email.thehill.com\/jnbfczshnbbwpzpbwtvnnwffnswkbsbddmnhzqkbttrfmq_tcmlvvhzhklcbcjcmjzh.html?a%3D%26b%3D47832&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1646954409608000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1iFFUPsXvcW-FpwKWNdbz-\">unveiled by Senate appropriators<\/a>\u00a0early Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Republican appropriators said on Wednesday that the omnibus legislation will also include the Weldon amendment, a rider Democrats also previously sought to drop that bars entities that don\u2019t want to provide abortion care from being denied federal dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The Hyde amendment prohibits use of federal funds for abortions in most cases. The rider has been included in annual appropriations bills since it was introduced by then-Rep.
