Many were immigrants and AAPI women who, like many of us, left their homelands in search of opportunity and a better life for their families &#8211; only to die in a senseless act of hate and violence at the hands of a shooter with easy access to guns, something with which we are all too familiar.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Together, with their families and other survivors, we remember the victims and keep their names in our hearts: Daoyou Feng; Delaina Ashley Yaun; Hyun Jung Grant; Paul Andre Michels; Soon Chung Park; Suncha Kim; Xiaojie Tan; and Yong Ae Yue.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The 13th District of Los Angeles is home to many AAPI community members. I am proud to represent you, to fight alongside you, and to stand in solidarity with you.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We stand firmly against hatred and anti-Asian violence; we stand with immigrants; and we stand with the victims and survivors of preventable gun violence.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Today, may we remember, reflect and seek to heal.
