New video shows Democrat congressional candidate Jay Chen\u00a0mocking<\/a>\u00a0congresswoman Michelle Steel\u2019s accent during a recent campaign event. Congresswoman Steel is a first-generation immigrant to the United States who speaks three languages.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

In a video of the townhall, Jay Chen – the Democrat\u00a0endorsed<\/a>\u00a0candidate for California\u2019s 45th Congressional district –\u00a0said<\/a>, \u201c\u00a0Yeah, so she just had another town hall the other day. And, umm, it’s tough. Like, we\u2019ve transcribed it. You kind of need an interpreter to figure out exactly what she\u2019s saying. The more she speaks, the better for us<\/b>.\u201d\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Chen\u2019s racist characterization of her accent is a total affront to the Asian Pacific American community. Nobody in America should be mocked because of their heritage. \u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Republicans embrace Americans of all backgrounds while Democrats continue to divide by race.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
