Republican Congresswoman\u00a0Michelle Steel\u00a0<\/b>and Senator\u00a0Ted Cruz<\/b>\u00a0are\u00a0leading<\/a>\u00a0the charge against race-based college admissions policies that hurt Asian American students while Democrats continue to support these discriminatory policies.<\/p>\n

Rep. Steel, Sen. Cruz, and 80 of their colleagues filed an amicus brief Monday in support of the plaintiffs in two cases currently\u00a0before<\/a>\u00a0the Supreme Court that could end racial preferences being used at places like Harvard and the University of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

The amicus brief follows up on Rep. Steel\u2019s\u00a0Helping Applicants Receive Valid and Reasonable Decisions (HARVARD) Act<\/a>\u00a0which \u201cwould promote transparency at institutions of higher education by requiring them to list their usage of personality traits in admissions decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Biden and Democrats are in favor of maintaining racial preferences in school admissions. Biden\u2019s administration\u00a0asked<\/a>\u00a0that the Supreme Court decide in favor of Harvard\u2019s discriminatory policies, a complete reversal from President Donald Trump\u2019s\u00a0stance<\/a>\u00a0on the issue.<\/p>\n

Bottom line<\/b><\/u>: Democrats want to keep racial profiling in school admissions that hurt Asian American students while Republicans are against these discriminatory policies.<\/p>\n
