{"id":49966,"date":"2022-06-29T17:10:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T00:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=49966"},"modified":"2022-06-29T21:11:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T04:11:00","slug":"warren-calls-for-voter-registration-through-healthcare-gov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=49966","title":{"rendered":"WARREN CALLS FOR VOTER REGISTRATION THROUGH HEALTHCARE.GOV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.\u00a0Elizabeth Warren\u00a0(D-Mass.) is calling on the\u00a0Biden\u00a0administration to provide access to voter registration services through\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthcare.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/healthcare.gov&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1656644430447000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2rIQnGsfEDWCdeqwprLb46\">healthcare.gov<\/a>, where Americans can apply for health insurance through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Warren\u00a0urged HHS Secretary\u00a0Xavier Becerra\u00a0to make changes to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/healthcare.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/healthcare.gov&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1656644430447000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2rIQnGsfEDWCdeqwprLb46\">healthcare.gov<\/a>\u00a0that could lead to millions of Americans registering to vote, especially those living below the federal poverty level, according to a letter first obtained by The Hill.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She pointed to President Biden\u2019s executive order on promoting access to voting that came out in March 2021 and a recent update from the administration that all agencies, including HHS, said they were making progress on enhancing access to voter registration.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cBut HHS can do more to fulfill its commitments under the President\u2019s Voting EO.
