{"id":49968,"date":"2022-06-29T20:11:12","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T03:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=49968"},"modified":"2022-06-29T21:11:55","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T04:11:55","slug":"fauci-experiencing-rebound-of-symptoms-after-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapost.us\/?p=49968","title":{"rendered":"Fauci experiencing \u2018rebound\u2019 of symptoms after treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anthony Fauci<\/strong>,\u00a0the nation\u2019s top infectious diseases doctor, said he is experiencing a rebound of COVID-19 symptoms after taking Pfizer\u2019s antiviral drug Paxlovid.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fauci, 81, contracted COVID-19 earlier this month, and while his symptoms were initially \u201cminimal,\u201d because of his age he was prescribed a five-day course of Paxlovid when they worsened.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking during a Foreign Policy global health summit on Tuesday, Fauci said he tested negative for three days in a row after he finished taking Paxlovid.<\/li>\n<li>But then on the fourth day, Fauci said he tested positive again, a phenomenon that\u2019s referred to as a \u201cPaxlovid rebound.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Increasingly common:\u00a0<\/strong>As more doses of Paxlovid are prescribed, scores of patients are reporting a similar experience.
